Bungie has introduced that it’s teaming up with the Aleph One neighborhood to carry its basic shooter franchise Marathon to Steam. Kicking issues off with the primary Marathon, video games within the collection can be coming to Steam over time. All three video games on Steam can be free.
Whereas the unique Marathon is out now on Steam, sequels Marathon 2: Durandal and Marathon Infinity can be added at a later date. It’s price noting that these are modified variations of the unique video games, with painstaking work taken on by the Aleph One neighborhood to make sure that the sport runs correctly on fashionable programs.
The Marathon trilogy was a collection of basic shooters made completely for Macintosh computer systems of the time. Since then, the three video games have gotten a cult following, thanks largely to how most of the seeds for storylines that happen in Halo had been initially planted within the Marathon video games.
Plans to launch Marathon on Steam had been first introduced again in March. The Aleph One model of Marathon options a number of enhancements over the unique sport, together with help for 60+ FPS, and even a HUD.
Right this moment, we’re thrilled to announce that the Aleph One neighborhood is bringing the unique 1994-1996 Marathon Trilogy to Steam beginning with Marathon 1.
Thanks to the Marathon neighborhood to your help over time. We could not do it with out you.
