BioWare has unveiled an exciting new gameplay preview for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, as part of IGN First. The gameplay features Rook on a mission to rescue griffins, journeying with Davrin and Assan to a mysterious place known as The Cauldron. To reach their goal, they must navigate the Crossroads—a unique location that mirrors the waking world. This area is full of reflections of real-world locations, making it a crucial path to explore when venturing into new regions.
While fast travel is available, the Crossroads is packed with hidden secrets. It also serves as a training ground and a strategic base for Solas in his battle against the Elven Gods, offering plenty for players to discover. One notable location is the Gray Keep, built by the Gray Wardens. Here, players can take on new quests and interact with a merchant whose stock can be upgraded to unlock better items.
During your journey through the Crossroads, you might encounter Darkspawn, showcasing the dynamic Mage class. Unlike the Warrior and Rogue, the Mage excels at battlefield control through ranged magic. For those who prefer close combat, the Mage can switch to a magical dagger, offering a playstyle reminiscent of the Night Enchanter from previous games. A key mechanic allows you to apply elemental stacks to enemies, which can then be detonated using the dagger for devastating effects.
